Yeah maybe I really like the little accent stripes in the sarado. Looks like they laminated them in there or what not. It does look really nice though. And that matte tama is sick too.
@azleonhart @kyoflow16 not quite, @TheWickEffect got the tama right though! Ken and sarado are the same species, it is one that hasn't been used in dama much yet (if at all). @Sirwillcode @lategreat808 that was a one-of-a-kind handturned mun ebony with bloodwood stripe, if I remember correct it was made in 2013. It is standard size, not LBB. The sarado is a solid piece of wood, those stripes are just part of the grain
@TerraKendama if I could (legally) get my hands on a small bit of California sequoia or redwood could we do one? crazy to think you could have a kendama that is older than Christ.
Definitely doable, those species are not tooo tough to come by. I could check in with my main wood guy if you're serious about it, he has one of the best selections in N America so he'll probably know what the deal is. Not into it. We would never accept wood from an illegal source, proper forestry practices are important to keep the industry healthy and sustainable. Especially considering we work with a lot of exotic species, we work hard to ensure our sources are legit.
Oh you know I'm kidding <3 Also my new goal in life is to be able to say: "let me talk to my wood guy"
