What are the models and brands that feature the smallest cup sizes? Biggest? Also what are the major effects (advantages and disadvantages) of the different cup sizes? Do they effect your game? Last, how important is cup size (scale of 1-10)?
So... Usually thrift shop kendamas have dinky cups, and JKA (Oozora, TK-16 etc.) have standard cup sizes. The craft has a slightly bigger cup size. then there are the Sweets primes and next gen and Krom Pop with even larger cups. After that is slaydawg, the most iconic kendama with larger cups. The monster cup kendamas that are still competition approved are the craft slim plus, and the aynedter mod, but they are an entire 4-5% larger. All of these are approved for most competitions though. After this, they are above comp approved. Advantages: Better lunars, cup flow, etc. Disadvantages: Nothing that I can find! Usefulness: 8/10
It doesn't matter unless you like luners, but otherwise anything is great, even the SUPER small cups on tks
Well I like lunars and I only have small cups Also where do OG kaizens fit on the cup size scale (comparatively)?
I find that kens with bigger cups dont ken flip as well and tend to have uneven UFOs sometimes. Other than that I find them to be great.
Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. My pull up flips in particular seem to be wobblier on the bigger cup kens
You might have a look here: Kendama Comparisons I need to go back and update it with some of the current gen kendama but there's an OG Kaizen there to check.
