If you had one shot, one oppurtunity.... Wait, I mean if you had 1 dama for 1 year. What would it be. I've been thinking about taking the challenge myself. I'm leaning towards using the classic kendama, Ozora. Haven't decided on a color though.

A pink ozora is always in my collection. As soon as ones thrashed beyond play I buy a new one and retire the old. I could keep a pink oozy for a year with no gripes
Ive gone a couple months with an ash shenzu and if i had glued the spike it would still be prime(as in plays great. it looks jammed af).. but what it would look like after a year i cant imagine hahaha. Should we pick a date and all pick one dama and jam it for a year from that date?!
I did a one year kendama challenge with a TK-16 (red); jammed it everyday for 365 days, no less than 30 minutes per day.
I got a maple hg and it took a beating fast. and your welcome. I would suggest a kaizen craft or a sol hardwood though.
That would be dope..maybe new years day? Gives everyone time to get a fresh kendama for the challenge. This is what I was thinking. I wanted to go with a Ozora or TK so I can really hone in tricks and consistency with them. Though I've been super inspired by Hinata Takashi's style and would love to work on more using the enviroment around me like he does. I imagine his setups get super wrecked though.
You know those videos where people take a picture of themselves every day for like a year or like 5 years. Someone should do this with a fresh kendama. Take the same picture every day then mash them all up and create a timelapse of it being destroyed over time
Yea, his damas must get thrashed! I love his tricks though, super inspiring. Actually, the first kendama I had was a red TK16. I played it for legit almost a year until I got a second (a blue TK16). So, I guess that sorta counts? haha If you do a lot of spacewalking, tap tricks, or insta lighthouses, any setup isn't going to last forever. With more traditional play there is no reason a kendama can't last a year
I've been thinking about doing this for awhile. I think the best dama to do this with would be a Terra battlescar paint kendama. The change would be dramatic!
Yea maple homegrown players usually go through 2-3 of em a year. I've gone through 3 myself and I don't play em super hard or even super often.
