Any musicians and music enthusiasts in the DS community? Personally, I consider music as my first and true love. Post your Social media handles (e.g. Soundcloud, YouTube) below! Mine is soundcloud.com/emil_the_human. I have a few originals and covers on there.
https://soundcloud.com/rafaelr14 Yo, my names Rafael and I've been making beats/music since high school. Been playing kendama for about 5-6 months now. Anyone that can give me some criticism or comments I would greatly appreciate
I took down all of my old covers on youtube, used to try and do the whole youtube cover artist back in the 2008-2011 era of filipino youtube musicians. Still have my guitar and uke, pick them up from time to time. Also played trumpet in band for 10 years up until my first 3 years at Boise State with the marching band there. I have a lot of friends who are big in the local music scene here in Boise and I always feel the need to pick up my guitar/uke after I check out one of their shows but it never pans out anymore.
YES! I have to agree, Music is one of the most important and influential things in my entire life. I love creating music, listening to music, and also playing/performing music! Music production is where I find the most passion in my music. Some of my older songs can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/guy-laborde This music is all from a phase that I only recently moved out of, where I was using Garageband for iPad, then mastering the music in Logic Pro with my guitar/music teacher. Now I have shifted to Ableton Live, and have come up with tons of new ideas, and have been playing around with creating different types of music using varying methods. I have not completed any of my current projects yet, but I'll probably put them up on Bandcamp and Soundcloud when I do. I like way too many types of music for me to list, but recently, Ive been listening to a lot of jazz influenced future bass, like what the Night Owl Collective has been releasing. https://soundcloud.com/nightowlcollective Ive also been listening to Oshi: https://soundcloud.com/oshi, and the music by the Daruma/Sola collectives. https://soundcloud.com/bydaruma As far as performing goes, I have been getting very into guitar lately, since I have been playing with the school Jazz band. Also, I DJ some events for local schools, and help my Guitar teacher DJ weddings. Above all these though, Beatboxing is what I really enjoy performing. In 7th grade, I did the talent show with a dubstep song that I came up with, and I have been pretty famous in my town since. I do talent shows and open mics whenever possible, as its super fun for me. Here's a video of my talent show performance from two years ago (because don't think I have any more recent ones haha): Sorry for the super long post, I just love talking about all this. Since I mentioned my guitar/music teacher a few times, her are his links: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChcfdbkGakSBitqYJshemTQ - his music https://soundcloud.com/channad - his Soundcloud https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsbg7syPuP-_H67luGnRcNg/featured - his channel for tech reviews etc.
Nice! Listened to your soundcloud and your beats are cool! Can't really critique the music cause I'm not much of an EDM guy, but they sound neat.
"2008-2011 era of Filipino Youtube Musicians." Good times )) I'm actually active in the Music Scene here in Manila! Started a band, and I session for other bands with my trusty Saxophone.
Yo!!! Mad respect for your art dude! Beatboxing is amazing ) Also, glad to meet someone very passionate about music as well. I'm mainly a performance guy (don't know much about production, unfortunately) and I love playing and learning instruments (i can play 8!). )
Since we're on the topic of music and music enthusiasts, post your works here! Made a piano cover today.
Bumping this thread! If anyone happens to be in the philippines, I'm holding a gig this friday, November 10. Details to follow.
I play violin, guitar, recorder, drums, and a little uku-lay-lay . As for what I like to listen to i'd probably go with Pink Floyd, and Phish.
https://www.youtube.com/user/Miles4Rasta My name is Miguel I’m from Suffolk VA, this is my old reggae band. We don’t play together anymore but I always like to still get it out here regardless. Enjoy! (If I had to suggest a song to listen to first it’d be What If? Or Revival) Our rhythm Guitar on IG is @zoo_niga4rilla and I’m @Tortilla_gorilla
I know there is a music thread out there, but this one is specific to guitar (and bass). Who plays? what do you like to play? what guitars do you have? what strings do you like, or any other random stuff. I started out with an epiphone acoustic guitar that I played for about a year before I got my first electric, a beautiful sunburst stratocaster. I love playing some stuff from Alex Lifeson (rush), green day, the police, the beatles, and a LOT of other random classic rock. Not a huge AC/DC or Metallica type guy. I also play lead for the worship band at church. I use .60mm picks for rhythm stuff and .71 or .73mm for lead stuff. I've always used Ernie ball regular slinky (.10-.46) but rn the guitar is in the shop getting set up with some super slinkys (.09-.42). I go to Sam ash for literally everything.
Hey @Carlos Habbenero since we already have a related thread I went ahead and merged the two. It could get kind of messy if we had a thread for each instrument in the orchestra.
to all bass players (or really all musicians), check out Rob scallon's song "a collapse." Its a super chill and technical bass solo thats really impressive.
I play in an ukulele orchestra here in Vancouver, BC. There are four orchestra sections with 75 ukuleles in total plus one standup bass and a trumpet. We’ve played numerous concerts in the past and perform a variety of genres. We’ll be recording a pro video to put up on YouTube this spring. I’ll post the link for that when it’s done if anyone is interested.
