Does anyone know why they stopped using the pro clear? I would assume it was because of the new prime stick paint, but I do not know too much about sweets before the prime line dropped.
I honestly think that they went away from this line , since a few stickier paints came along from a few others first and it seemed like the way “ the community “ was heading . Their paints ,Pro-clear and ATack both seemed to break in like a dream for many , but like Sweets stated when they started the Prime paints , they were going for the —-> “Sticky right out of the box ” Feel ! I’ve liked every paint they’ve had . But I’m sure for production ,they want to keep the options down to what sells the best ...Prime and Cushion clears ..
I just got my V10's! Baja Bamboo and Splatter Raptor. The ones I ended up with are weight matched and lunar balanced to perfection! You know it's a good kendama when I can actually do inward lunar tricks in less than 10 attempts on a slick-ish tama. They also can nail stalls like a boss. The pro clear on the Baja does seem to be different. It actually has a tiny amount of grip! It's still slippery enough to be legit, but enough grip to up your consistency. I can tell this will break in like a dream. I think Sweets is turning it up a notch with these exotics. They are $5 more but it's very worth it. Edit: Just had a sesh with the Baja. New favorite kendama at the moment!
AFAIK the Pro and Cushion Clears are applied in shop at the Sweets Shop. Does anyone know if Prime Clear is also applied in shop at Sweets?
Been seshing my V10 Bamboo for about a week now. This is my first Pro Clear tama. I swear they put magic in this paint. It just gets grippier and grippier. Prime sticky used to be my favorite, but landing tricks on Pro Clear just feels that much better.
We haven't stopped using Pro Clear! There have been a few Customs this year with Pro Clear. If the question is why isnt it on everything? That is because Pro Clear is painted in-house so it takes more time and is more expensive. The Prime line is able to be sold for less and be made faster to help kendama grow to new players! A few years ago someone wanting to get into kendama had to spend $30-$40 just for their first dama, not its only $16!
This makes me so hype! I am using mine for the sweets February challenge and cant wait to see it break in!
