    Hey everyone,

I just made an app for Kendama players. Dama Dice gives you a random trick to try on Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty settings. It also has a combo mode that challenges you further with a group of three tricks that naturally flow.

You can check it out here:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dama-dice/id1382452487?ls=1&mt=8

I created Dama Dice because it’s fun to shake things up every now and then. I got started building these apps for snowboarding and skateboarding. My friends and I were always daring each other to try new tricks, so it’s really a product I built to have more fun with them. Dama Dice is great for games of K.E.N. when you don’t know what trick to try.

The app works through a process known as “procedural generation.” That’s fancy computer science talk for lots and lots of random numbers. If the number is “1”, the app gives you a different trick than you’d get if it’s “2” and so on.

Dama Dice has over a hundred random trick components that it draws from. It puts those components together to make new and interesting combinations of tricks every time you shake your phone.

Dama Dice also has a Combo Mode that combines tricks together in lines of three. It uses the ending grip from the previous trick to figure out which trick to flow into. Combos are natural and fun to try. The app will keep surprising you with the combos it creates. It’s sort of unreal and nothing like the kinds of combos you can think up yourself.

I'd love to hear your feedback. If you want me to add new tricks or put them in a different difficulty, it's pretty easy to do that. Also, if you have any other ideas in general, I'm listening.

So yeah, enjoy the app. Have fun! Send me your feedback too. I can add in new tricks and move things around. I built the app for the community, and I want it to be something everyone loves to play with.

Hey! I'm planning to do an Android version, especially if the community really gets behind it. I estimate it will take a few days to do that project, and I want to make sure it'll be worth the effort

Not bad at all! Some suggestions I have (from a non-developer standpoint, idk how hard these are to implement) are maybe a different cycle action instead of a shake like a double tap, cause I know the shaking can be annoying for some people, different backgrounds (kind of an extra addition), and maybe a way to look at all the possible tricks in a list rather than randomized.

Sweet! Let me know if it needs more tricks or if there's anything that needs correcting. I went from popular tutorials, but people like you are going to know best if the product fits what you want

Yup, I've got some tools to make that a reality. I just need to find a few days of free time from some of my contracting work. Seems like there's quite a bit of demand for it though!

Hey Jack, message me at tedbendixson@me.com, and I can arrange a refund.

I can move some of the hard tricks to the medium category and also add some more hard tricks. Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding the combos, that's a little trickier, but if you have any ideas I would be happy to help.

I'd suggest doing some lunar/inward lunar variations like flips, barrel rolls, tres and rovers. I would also suggest moving Lighthouse Trade Spike, Lighthouse Flip, One Turn Lighthouse, and Whirlwind (and variations) to intermediate. However, all of these tricks' multiple turn variations could be in advanced. To add to advanced, I'd say multiple gunslingers, inward lighthouse flips, late kenflip/gunslingers, gunslinger/kenflip/juggle to bird, 1.5 swap spikes and double swap downspikes (fasthand could be an option), and maybe some common around tricks, such as around stalls, around bird/nightingale/handlestall/bird over the valley.

I would also suggest a lower and higher intermediate so that the avanced can be hard tricks such as the hippie flip stuff, triple everything, stilt flips, barrel rolls, BB's and BB flips, wing, late kenflips and gunslingers, and maybe even inward lunar backflips.
