What are some tricks that don't look too hard, but are actually really tough to land?

Also, what tricks look hard but aren't as tough as they seem?

For the first question, I find inward tosses to inward lunar and even regular tosses to lunar deceptively hard.

Lunar backflips are completely deceptive in making them look easy. It looks so simple for someone who has never tried it before, but the mechanic is just so hard to master. Another deceptive trick is "hippie flip." The sweets pros make it looks so easy, but in truth, it takes forever to get consistent.
I feel like gunslingers are a lot easier than they look, and most people who say they can't sling just have given up too fast based on how hard the trick looks. Really once you get the motion and tama motion down you can get multiple slings easily, and the only thing left is spiking. I have personally got up to 7 sling, and can get up to 5 sling quite consistent on slinger setups. Another trick like this is juggles, where once you learn them ,they are a lot easier than they look. I have not put in enough time on juggles yet, so it is still quite hard for me to prevent the tama from flipping uncontrollably, but I realize that much of these motion based tricks get so much easier once that motion is unlocked.

yeah, I agree with everything you said pretty much. I was about to put backflips and gunslingers in the original post for the same reasons you said.

Very true, especially with the inward juggles.
It's the opposite for me. They look tricky but I find that they just lock really well for me.

The humble whirlwind has always been the most deceptively hard trick for me.

Also lol the follow-up earth turn after lacing a banger.

I can spacewalk, handroll, basically I have the beginner string flow/ throw stuff unlocked, but Goon/Moon circles just will not click. Getting the ken to pop up/ rotate after you receive the tama just doesn't add up in my head, and the rotation ends up just dying immediately. D :

Do you push the ken forward and down when releasing it?

I personally think that trés are much harder than they look; I don’t usually do them though, so maybe I just need to work on consistency:)

Hmm I thought u were supposed to push the ken forward and upward when releasing?? Of course I can’t figure these out either so maybe I’ve been going about it opposite and will try this method out as well..!

..after you receive the tama? My experience with goon/moon circles is that it’s a ken toss to ken receive motion.. and my struggle comes from recieving the ken and getting the tama to continue in a circular direction towards me without the rotation dying out on me. I thought I had heard/received a tip that u needed to push the ken out and upward. But maybe @Qonnor just gave us both the tip we actually needed..!
