    Hey kendama nerds!

In my experience from all the 3 cups the base cup gets destroyed way too fast. What're your thoughts on this? Maybe it's due my playstyle? I like insta lighthouses a lot.... It just bothers me to retier a kendama that is healthy all around just because of a destroyed base cup.

Let me know what you think!

Greetings from Switzerland and happy holidays!

Yeah, insta lighthouses are really one of the main tricks that wear the base cup. And it’s not just instas, there’s taps and even moshikame. But I mean if you go to lighthouse and do double flips or more a ton, then yeah that’ll wear the base cup down.

Yeah insta lighthouses definitely wreck base cups the fastest. Ghost lighthouses are pretty fun and don't wreck the base cup, so maybe try those sort of tricks?

you can sand the base cup on a flat surface to keep it going a bit longer

It will make the edge of the cup a bit thicker, which might make it a tiny bit more durable

You just need to watch it on those with shallow cups or you might end up contacting the bottom of the cup rather than the rims.
