Apparently some specially 3d-printed dama using "multiaramid." Don't know what that is, lol. Guy has made a whole backstory involving an AI and cool graphics to match, in his pinned stories he has some stats about the material, which afaict show it as being stronger than maple. Asked and the dama is going to be 50 euros! Anyone played with a dama like it to give feedback?
That material needs to be very strong to be able to stand up to kendama play (especially tap juggle insta madness). The closest comparison I can think of is REZ's kens, which were made out of Resin. Resin is particularly hard to work with, apparently, as the slightest imperfections in the setting of the resin could lead to serious failures (hence, aside from quality control, why REZ dropped only a handful of kens at a time). Hope this company doesn't just 3D print a ken and sell it. It needs to have a level of craftsmanship and quality control akin to REZ to be a serious player.
I'm interested....looking into aramid polymers and printing it seems like the ideal material for a kendama. The real question is the QC and how these lighter kens will play with different paints. Snagging on a First run could really pay off it the tech plays out.
I'mma cop for sure. Looks very promising. I have worked with aramid previously in the lab and it is a impressive material.
Damn I kind of love all the marketing. Feels like it was only a matter of time before someone tried selling printed kens. I hope it works out better than previous 3d printing experiments!
Oh damn, this got me hyped And I like that they did something unique with the material, something that is considerably harder if you use eg wood
They play well but I did notice the sarado hole was a little tight fitting on the spike unlike any material I've ever felt almost feels like porcelain but I like the play on it alot slings and lunar balance on point also have noticed extremely durable probably more than wood. The cups are deeeeeeep go well past my index finger nail maybe 2mm -3mm deep
Yeah that stringing tightness was the same here. Almost felt like i was hoing to break it. I'm happpy I got one but it definitely won't be a daily jammer (too slim shape for my liking) Also the cups are about 1.5cm deep
Soo with the new drop coming up I thought I'd share more information. Shape: - Very Very Deep cups - Spike is unusual ( weird tip, it gets pointy at the very end but for very short) - Handle is extremely slim (comparable to shift slim or Nativ Shape) - Lunar balance is alright (less slappy than expected with the basecup cause the weights are within 1g) - stalls great on my O tama (guess it needs a specific angle cause my Westy tama was horrible with it) For more questions and/or a video of me bending it check my Insta: @damasloth
