You posted in the wrong section.. DSExchange is where u can sell that to me..!! Haha I kid I kid. Lucky, you’ve snagged some A+ damas recently I’ve noticed
Mine just came in. By far the best dama I ever played! What do you guys think About kenditioning the ken?
Here's a thread on wood treatments and various woods that might provide some useful information. Shades of Grain
Someone posted a link on FKC that Kekekendama had some in stock - since i have literally no impulse control I copped one lol
Would anyone be down for a Homegrown version? I'd be very excited if they ever decided to make a batch of Homegrown Fraser mods and I would even drop $100+ on one no question. I completely love mine (Favorite at the moment) but my tama is unfortunately and very sadly not 100% round, now it's not bad enough to dramatically affect play but it is there and I am extremely picky about my tama-roundness. The pros of the dama outweigh this negative aspect and I can still lace bangers like no other dama but dang, now I have to buy another one when they come out in hopes of getting a perfect tama. Does anyone else's Fraser tama have this problem? I'm very surprised about this given that it is $60, and that's why I'd prefer a Homegrown version with better manufacturing. You would think that eggy tamas would be completely eradicated by now, especially for a dama like this.
I'd go out on a limb and guess that it started life spherical but the wood warped after the fact. May have been a wood batch that hadn't completely dried. I wonder if laminate tama have more tendency to warp because of the different woods and their drying speeds.
Yea the only “eggy” tama I have is a M.Sweets Promod Cush Clear.. I noticed early on, but same as the decade mod for the person above it didn’t really have negative impact on my play with it.. was still smacking tricks on it and played it pretty thoroughly. But I had the same thought, for the money it seems like QC would spot some of these Tamas on such small “batch” quantities and not let them slip through to the consumer
Just out of curiosity, how is the quality on the tamas? The past purchases I've had from Sweets had tamas that were a bit eggy which bothered me quite a bit. Would love to hear from someone who's currently seshing the Decade mod.
Mine is not 100% round but it doesn't ruin the play, however my sister's decade tama is a perfect sphere.
Soooo honest quick review: - shape is super nice and way better than prime shape - might be a tad too slim for me but not too bad - tama is a bit eggy which is apparently the standard for sweets (also the reason i refrain (ed) from buying sweets) - cushion is nowhere near as good as my "OG Formula Cush" (Space Jam V5 i think) - stalls nicely on all stallpoints - weights are fairly matched - loons for days - "coin feel" on the tama is not too noticable for me - i love the design and thought process buuuut the execution could be better (ROUND TAMA GOD DAMN IT) Overall a nice ken but not worth 60+ - I'd rather get a Prefect or something similar
Using different species/weights of wood, the tama was designed to rotate so that the hole will always be facing the bottom, making it easier to spike. A good idea, but I’m not sure how well it actually works as I don’t have a Legend mod
I'll send some pics comparing it to a Westy (which is the shift shape as far as i know) when i get home
