As for getting a job in Japan, once the world goes back to semi normal it might be easier than you think. Check with the JET program for teaching English. I've also heard that Disney hires talent for their park here and there are other jobs around too. Part time work as a "model" is another possibility. I put "model" in quotes because it's not the same gig as in the US. Models here also do work in TV commercials and other media not just print work. Just do a little research and good luck. (the reason I say "here" is because I live most of the time in Tokyo though we have our kendama biz in the Philippines)
I have checked with the JET program but they require a degree and that's the trouble, i went to college but didn't graduate, and if i go back to graduate itll be expensive as well, i don't want to be one of the people bringing english to japan, i dont want america to try and westernize the world any further if i can help it that would be interesting, if i could find a some sort of modeling (i see what you mean, thanks for explaining) that i ethically can agree with more or less, i would be all for it. awesome, tokyo and well, all of japan looks amazing. i'd probably live in a more rural area, maybe in hokkaido, if i had the choice, myself.
