hello! I've been at this for a few weeks now and feelin pretty confused. So there's a few times I can get it but for some reason, coz I've been approaching this trick from jus watching people do it in videos, I can't tell if I'm actually doing it "right" or if there's an easier way. Any help would be appreciated.. thank you!
Depends on what your doing beforehand; if your doing juggles, space walks, or just staring pull up ghost. They all take the same basic concept but just different amount of effort. The pull up is the easiest. You literally just pull up the tama and try to leave the ken flat while you throw it switch then cushion the lighty. I find that it's best to kinda push the ken forward a bit to keep it flat. I'd really just work on the letting go of the ken and keeping the basecup leveled then adding the tama throw into it.
basically what @Sbermea22 said, however i learned "ghost" by first learning pull up fast hand lighthouse, then thought hey i can probably just be lazy and just straight toss this to lighty, now years later this lazy lighthouse is called ghost, go figure
I make sure I'm holding the ken like how I hold it for a kenflip then I tilt the ken forward a little bit so when I let go of the ken it stays straight. Just keep trying different ways of throwing the ken to a straight position
When throwing the "ghost", you wanna throw it so that the ken slowly arcs it's way to lighthouse. For example, when you pull the tama up, the ken is in your hand facing horizontally. When you go to throw the ghost and switch your grip to the tama, throw it so that the spike slowly comes towards you. You wanna catch it when the spike is facing upwards. Knees help this process if you happen to swap or catch the house too early/late
Oohf I'm bad at these, sometimes Rod will do a hard-ass lighthouse trick in a game of DAMA, and it'll start just straight ghost swap to lighty, and I'll miss that first part a bunch and never even get to trying the 'actual' trick. Like anything, just takes practice to hone in on the correct throw. Do it from straight pull-up before you try to juggle to it or whatever!
The first time I saw ghost to lighthouse, it definitely tripped me out. I learned it by trying it the way I saw it; Big Cup-Ghost-Lighthouse. Such a fun trick and like everyone has mentioned take your time, practice and use your knees.
I can hit these like 10% of the time. Super fun! Practice throwing the ken while holding the tama in your other hand first to get the feel. Then make sure you're pulling the tama up as close to the ken, even up past the base cup a bit, as you can so you barely have to do just a little "hop" toss. The smaller you need to throw the ken to the tama the better. At least for me. Here's me doing it (to prove that I did it) and also in POV and slo-mo the second time. I found it easier if i do a swing with tama. As if you want to do swing in to spike but instead you trade it for lighthouse I dobt know why but doing it that way its easier not to overrotate ken. beats me
