I have had this thought rumbling around my head for a while now. And I have had some discussions with some people about this in the past, but it is time to make it a reality. With my personal experience as an art student, going to West Philly basement punk shows, and an extreme love of vintage skateboard magazines, I want to start a Kendama Zine. Ideally this will become a quarterly (or more often) publication. But right now the focus is issue 1! I have a lot of plans in my head, but to be honest it is way more exiting to get a collaborative project. So, if you would like to be involved in any way please leave your email address in the comments. I may hit you up to write an article, do an interview, help proofread, etc I will also be looking for Art and Photography entries as well. (All new content, that hasn't been shared digitally) I also may not hit you up for the first issue, but may for a future one. I really don't know lol. I have a ton of ideas rattling around, and I can't wait to make this one a reality!
sick idea! not sure if i'd be any help but I'd definitely read it! lol (also bonus kudos for Rocket Power! loved that show)
Holla at us, we're always looking for legit, well written, and somewhat offensive content submissions. Vol 2 is in the works. No goddamn yank spikes. tipwetmag@gmail.com
The time is here! 20 days to submit your art, photography, writing, etc. Whirlwind is a Kendama themed Zine that I have been thinking of for a while, and will be working to put together in the next few months. This is a large collective project, and I truly hope to work with many of the creative people of the dama world! Page size is 5.5in x 8.5in, vertical. And will be printed in Full Color. All content submitted must be 100% Original, and cannot have been shared online. The fresher the better! If you have an questions, ideas, or are ready to submit your work, please send an email to: whirlwinddamazine@gmail.com (please don't DM me, too confusing) Submissions will close April 25th at Midnight. Not everything submitted is guaranteed to end up in this first issue. If your work is selected, you will receive credit (obvs) and a few issues of the Zine to save or share.
