Anybody enjoy jamming on a Viking? I have read that the bigger size makes learning new tricks a little easier. I saw that the rubberwood was on sale on Krom's website. I've also never played a rubberwood. How do you guys like that wood?
I own a mahogany emerald viking. The size is between a regular sized kendama and a jumbo kendama (taiyo jumbo, jumbo tribute, XL Krom size) Its very playable, and a nice addition to any collection! The paint isn't tacky and the shape of the ken is odd, but a good dama regardless!
Absolutely love the Vikings! Used to practice tricks with jumbos, but it's pretty big for certain tricks. The Viking is just nice for that. Plus, it's a good kendama to have, in the event you're asked to do stage demos for the public. I have four to date: two natty mahogs, one rubberwood and one cheesewood.
I use to absolutely hate the Viking to the point in which I was going to just give away my candy apple. Then I started playing around with it more because the person I was going to give it to never messaged me back. Now I am jamming with it a lot more. It's great for balance tricks. Feels weird when you switch back to the normal sized ken though, it's like so tiny compared to the Viking.
