Montreal, Quebec seems to have some players but no scene that I've seen, I reached out to people the most I could and had little response, just a link to a yoyo page. So I also play solo
In Sweden, there are actually many dama players, but everyone lives in Gävle, wich is 3 hours away from Örebro where I live
I'm from Camarillo, California. I'm just outside of LA. Jams are probably an hour away because of TRAFFIC :/
Closest for me is a 2.5 hour drive to NYC. Otherwise I have to take a ferry to ct and then another hour drive to jame with my homie. So no scene here
Dead as a door knob in NH, USA. Ive got one friend into kendama whos pretty in to it, and he got one friend. That's all I know of here
I live in mapleton UT everyone at my school did them last year but now there is only a handful that I know of
Yeah in Chico where I'm from we have me and about 2-3 others...but we're slowly recruiting more There's a decent yo yo scene so we're trying to slowly infect them haha
But when you have to -convince your parents to driving you [i dont have licence] -go on weekends or days off that donr have school
Yeah a bunch of kids play here... on MY damas... so then if they like it i say why dont you get one? and they say oh nooo im broke... so yeh im the only one it feels like in my area... i go to a camp where dama is rampant but its a 30 minute drive... plus in the winter/fall/spring there are no pple to jam with there so im STUUUCK!
Houston, TX - We got a nice small community going on (about 7 of us) that meet up about every other week or so. Houston is so big though, some of us have to drive about 45min-1hour to jam.
If you don't have a scene by you, don't give up. Think outside the box and get creative to keep yourself entertained! I played for 7 years conpletely alone until I met a handful of other people that played. Now I'm traveling all over the country competing in events and making friends with countless people from all over the world!
As far as I know, my girlfriend and I are the only people in Janesville Wisconsin that kendama. I've been trying for so long to get others into it, but it's been hard.
Are there any kendama stores in quebec? I go there twice a year but never seem to find a kendama store??
Agreed! Also guys there are ways to get a scene going in your area. It may not be immediate or easy but it is doable and you dont necessarily have to go out of your way too much to introduce people to kendama.
