Is anyone studying in College/University right now? Where do you study and what are you taking up? Also, what do you like best about your field of study right now? I'm a 4th year student in the University of the Philippines, currently taking up Economics. I admit, economics is hard as hell (it isn't called "The Dismal Science" for nothing), but it helps me understand society and the individual a little bit better than the average guy and that is what I love about Economics.
I'm a first semester student at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. At the moment, I am planning to double major in Environmental Sustainability Studies and Spanish language.
I'm a sociology major at a junior college right now (College of San Mateo), but I just submitted my TAG to UCSC and am applying to other UCs and CSUs for Fall 2018. I definitely don't want to be a sociologist but I do like the options that having a sociology degree gives you. Also going to try and double major in Film at whatever school I end up attending
I just finished my first quarter at Cal Poly studying mechanical engineering. Can't say much about my major because I took 4 GEs this quarter that had nothing much to do with Mech Eng. Econ's the one subject my brain chooses not to understand so respect for taking that up
I have a hard time studying econ myself sometimes too, what with all the math and statistics involved. It's just a matter of putting the hours in!
I am in my third year for Cyber Security/Information Systems. It's alright. I like computers in tech but most of the material is still pretty dull and difficult. Well, difficult for me because I am awful at rote memorization. I am hoping I enjoy it more when I start taking my forensics and vuln testing classes.
I know a kendama player who is also a freshman at cal poly. He is mostly a cardist, but has been getting more into kendama. Should I give you his Instagram?
Yeah that would be cool. I've only seen one other person at school that played kendama (he doesn't even play anymore but he was still good). There's a 50% chance we go to different Cal Polies though.
I got a BS in Spanish and Psychology and I’m in school debt up to my eyeballs. Spanish is the most expensive hobby I have ever had, and a BS in psychology isn’t enough to work in the field. My point is spend your time wisely in school. Think about how you are cultivating a career. Don’t just study something because you like it, consider what you will do with your education in life. If I could go back, I would have learned a trade instead of earning a semi worthless piece of paper. Make yourself valuable by learning something that most people can’t do. No one just hands you a job when you graduate, so make yourself a valuable resource.
