I hope DS has a journalism program where people can start writing on behalf of events and stuff like that. Or just general dama thoughts. That would be cool. Like the old Producers/ Journalist program from NS.
We will be hand selecting moderators who can do some of those duties. What do you think that process should look like? What additional layers / responsibilities / contributions should we have?
I guess part of it would be like they can be journalists/mods and just in the know about what is going on. Then they themselves can write about it or can source it out for other people to write. Someone would have to be in an admin position to be seeing who is writing what and approving it but it would definitely be cool if certain kids have potential (ALEX HIROTA!?) to give them a shot on an article then if it's good, start paying them a little $. It's always hard with those types of things for people to have "responsibilities". That's why the true responsibilities may be limited to those who are actually mods or staff and then the other people can be considered "guest writers" or something.
At this point, you should ABSOLUTELY share the login info with anyone you think would be good to have as an influencer. If Alex or anyone else is into it, it would be great to have them start familiarizing with what we want to do. We may go public as early as later this week.
I would love to be a journalist and contribute and share photographs and coverage of jams that I attend here in Tokyo.
Coming from the mountain bike community I think www.pinkbike.com does an excellent job of posting event coverage, videos, and product reviews. Check em out for some inspiration. I think their journalism is top notch. For example here is some pre-event coverage for Red Bull Rampage. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/your-essential-guide-to-red-bull-rampage-2016.html
i'd love to hear more about events, like photos or a general overview of events. In the Northeast US there's literally no dama whatsoever.
