How many of you, when you finally get your Kendama package in the mail, rip it open and start playing it to shreds? I mean, it becomes one of your main jammers. You bring it everywhere you go. Or.... Are you the type who likes keeping things at a "new-new" state. You take your time seshing it. What I mean is you take the time to get to know it and try to cautiously play it because you don't want it too dented too fast. For me, I'm actually hoarding a box of "new-news." I still got Damas to play and destroy. I'll break a new one when I feel like I've "lvled up" a bit. Sort of like rewarding myself.
For me it all depends on the Kendama. I have a few new kendamas I keep for when my current hammers are completely done. Most of the time i just start to shred them though. The only exception being my Homegrown x Mugen, I’ve been playing it a little here and there to try and conserve the beauty.
I’m the type of person you call a Bae n Slayer. Most of the damas I’ve Baed and Slayed are Terra LBBs, Krom Slaydawgs, and a few Pro Mods
Most get prepped before I play; check the string, glue the tip, remove burrs, sometimes wood treatment. Even after that some get set aside for a rainy day or like you say when I feel like I've "lvled up." (this topic would have been good for a poll)
I like keeping 1 or 2 freshies stocked for a rainy day, but in general I destroy every kendama I touch. Also, this brings up an interesting question: Are there kendamas that you would bae forever? Like, stuff that you never take out of the package because of any reason?
Once I get my hands on a new kendama, you can bet that I'm going to be jamming it no matter what. I still have a bunch of damas that are 8/10 and are ready to be jammed...I really need to stop doing that.
Most of the time, open it up and jam it hard! (and then we'll put it on the shop wall, so that the local homies can jam it hard too!)
