Hi there, I want to try one of the KUSA Pro Models and the Alex Smith looks the coolest to me. Does anyone have any experience playing with it? If so, how does it play? Any strengths or weaknesses? Thanks.
It’s a great all around dama. Since it’s Maple, it’s going to be pretty durable. It’s not your next gen oversized cup so be warned if all you’ve played are Sweets Prime or Krom pop. I personally enjoy the 2.0 shape so i think if you’ve never owned a 2.0 kaizen it’s a solid choice for the collection! I forget if it’s a silk paint but it’s nothing special. It works and it’s durable so I prefer that more than the sticky paints which I found isn’t as durable.
I would recommend. Kaizen 2.0 maple kens are my fav, and the silk on this thing is really honed IMO.@htimSxelA do you know anything about this dama?
I designed it! Maple is great, soft feel, nice and durable. The maze is a design I came up with, I think it looks cool, and it provides a nice grip while playing. Silk paint has always been one of my faves, good durability with some grip for tama tricks. The 2.0 shape is great, more traditional sized than some other Damas, but it plays great all around, good for honing in your skills. The 2.0 drop is kinda limited afaik, get em while you can!
I'm a proud owner of @htimSxelA's OG Kaizen Pro Mod. The fact that it came out in 2.0 just makes it even better! It's a full maple kendama with Silk Paint, all around play. and a sick design. 10/10 would cop again.
