GUIDELINES 競技要領 ◆Competition Description 1.World Kendama Championship (Fujiwara Issei Cup) ・ One-on-One tournament ・ Players have to use JKA official Kendama (16-2 type). ・ The qualifying draw for the tournament will take place on the morning of 14th July. ・ Twelve tricks are in advance notified (Please see Trick List). ・ When player A pass selected trick and player B lose, then player A will get 1 point. ・ Each trick can be tried 3 times at maximum. ・ When players are even after 3 trials, this trick will be judged as draw. ・ Player getting 2 points will win the game (3 points only for the final). ・ Player to be located to the left side in the tournament table will play first. ・ The trick trial must be started within 15 sec from the referee’s call “HAJIME” and be completed within 40 sec. ・ When it is a draw after 4 tricks (6 tricks only for Final), the game will proceed to Sudden death. <Sudden death> ・ A trick will be selected from the trick list (by card) by the referee. ・ Both players try the trick only one time. ・ When player A pass the trick and player B lose, then player A will win the game. ・ When it is a draw, next trick will be selected. ・ When it is a draw after all tricks (12 tricks), the game will proceed to 3-Trick time competition. <3-Trick time competition> ・ The player who completed all tricks faster will win the game. ・ Tricks for the competition: Spike 3 times→Airplane 3 times→Swing in 3 times ・ Not allowed to change the trick order. <Trick List> 1 Stilts-Stuntplane 2 Eddying Current Candle (Whirlpool Candle) 3 Hanging Downspike 4 Hanging 2-Turn Lighthouse ‒ 2-Turn Lighthouse-flip 5 2-Turn Airplane ‒2-Turn J stick 6 Spacewalk 1-Turn Lunar 7 Around the galaxy 8 Slip grip special-Base cup stall 9 Tap airplane-1.5-trade spike 10 Inward Lunar-Lunar-Lighthouse-Fall in 11 Super Flamingo Spacewalk 12 Airplane ‒ Tap Reverse Jumping Stick Three Tricks Time Competition; Spike 3 times→Airplane 3 times→Swing in 3 times 2.Speed Tricks Championship ●Preliminary rounds: Friday, July 13, 2018. 18:00 – 19:00. 5 minutes execution time limit. Mass Start Speed 10-Selected Tricks (choose 10 different tricks from trick lists (in preparation)). Attention! Player has to declare the 10 tricks order list beforehand. (1)Qualifying round 1 All competitors start simultaneously. The player who has finished 10 tricks within 5 minutes goes into a qualifying round 2. (2)Qualifying round 2 All 2nd round qualifiers start simultaneously. The fastest 8 players advance to the qualifying round 3 (Qualifying Seeds, Assigned to A1 to A8). All 2nd qualifying round looser start simultaneously. The fastest 8 players advance to the qualifying round 3 (Consolation seeds, assigned to B1 to B8). (3)Repechage All looser start simultaneously. The fastest 4 players advance to the qualifying round 3 (Repechage, assigned to C1 to C4). (4)Qualifying round 3 Qualifying 20 players are divided into 4 groups of 5 players (2 players from Qualifying Seeds + 2 players from Consolation seeds + 1 player of Reperchage). The groups are played as double elimination. All matches are best-of-three, the winner qualifies for the knock out round 1st stage. One referee sticks to one player and judges success of each trick. Finally, 4 seeds (exemption of preliminary rounds) and 12 qualifiers progress into knockdown 1st stage. ●Drawing The determination of the tournament groups will perform at the reception (Lottery box and ball (wrote A,B,C, or D) will prepare). At first, 4 seeds are divide into 4 groups (A to D). Next, 12 qualifiers draw lots. Group assigned ball pulled by player, immediately return it to Lottery box. If the group assigned ball pulled out 3 times, a ball doesn’t return it. Each group set 4 players. ●Knockout rounds: Friday, July 14, 2018. 14:30 – 16:30. The day of the competition entry player’s round All preliminary rounds losers and the day’s entry competitors (Limit total 40 competitors, on a first-come-first-served basis, the day’s registration priority). Competitors are split into 4 groups (each group containing 10 players). Competitors start simultaneously. The fastest 2 players advance to the knock out round 1st stage. Eight players draw lots and assigned groups. Each group set 6 players. (1)Knock out round 1st stage Qualifying 24 players are divided into 4 groups of 6 players (1 seed player + 3 Qualifying winners + 2 players from on the day). The groups are played as triple elimination. All matches are best-of-two, the winner qualifies for the quarter final. (2)Quarter final Quarter finalists are divided into 2 groups of 4 players. The fastest 2 players advanced to semifinals. (3)Semifinals and final Four players will compete in a head to head bracket style competition. ●The Judging: Assistant referee judge tricks. Player has to declare the 10 tricks order list beforehand. From knockout round 1, one referee sticks to one player and judges success of each trick. In case of failure, referee raises a red flag. When player ending the 10th trick, referee raises a white flag. The finished tricks number is indicated by a scoreboard. ●Kendama The Ken can not be any taller than 17 cm / 6.7 inches (NOT limited to official JKA Kendama). Required “Dama-Check”. The tama can only have ONE hole in addition to the string hole. The Kendama is not allowed to have more than one spike and three cups. You can get up to TWO Kendamas passed per player via the Dama-Check. Don’t change or move the Kendama’s string position with your free hand during the trick. Use ONE Kendama throughout the one round. ●Prize Awards and money prize will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. ※WOF2018 Speed Tricks 3.Classified Challenge ・ Survival game by players classified into 3 categories; Beginner, Advanced and Expert. ・ All players align on the stage. ・ Ten tricks are notified in advancedfor each class (Please see the Trick List). ・ All players perform the trick from Trick #1. ・ If players pass the trick once in two trials, they can proceed the next trick, but miss the trick both times, they will drop out of the competition. ・ When players passed all tricks (10 tricks), they will get a prize(official Kendama). ・ The class will be decided by self-report, but dan-holders have to enter Advanced or Expert classes and players of over 5-dan players have to enter Expert class. ・ Not allowed to participate in 2 or 3 classes.
