Most of us carry around cellphones all day and although kendama is analog there are a number of digital kendama apps out there for both Android and iOS. Other than music apps what kendama specific or kendama related apps do you use? Here are a few that I've tried: Downspike Sweets Kendamas Kendama World Cup Trick Master 3D Kendama Kendama Trick Videos and Store Kendama Warrior 3D Live Time Control Chess Clock - for Dama Blitz timing KendamApp - full version now free (see DS post) Kendama Tools Kendama World Cup Trick Sheet NEW: Ozora Kendama Good for counting Moshikame Clap Counter - Kuewlsoft (just started to use this one and so far it seems better than the one below on my phone) Clap Counter - joetde
I have the LearnKendama.com, SweetsKendamas, DownSpike, and 3d Kendama apps. The only one I really use is the DS app, but even then, I prefer the computer version 3D kendama is really funky, but I rarely ever use it. Its just a cheap little game. SweetsKendama's app is just their website... LearnKendama.com is pretty nice for beginners learning tricks, but after a while, they stopped updating, and I was too advanced for the tricks.
I downloaded the DS app and the KWC tricklist app, but I don't really use them too often. I just use the DS app every now and then for checking on alerts.
1. Downspike (duh) 2. Instagram 3. KWC Trick List 4. I'm pretty sure there is a sweets and krom app too, someone please confirm
Not really related, but I find that the United App is one of the best designed apps I've ever messed with in terms of UX
Definitely a suggestive kind of list. Not everyone will deem each and every app here necessary. Some I find personally necessary. - Video/Photo editing app- for small to big scale video edits or for those who love dama photography - Repost app - there are many and it’s better than screenshotting a post for those repost giveaway contests - Music players - most, if not all phones already have built in music apps, but others like Pandora and Spotify are really popular among players - Youtube, Downspike, Facebook and Instagram - the few ones I’ll call by name. Not entirely necessary to have all 4 but each gives their own unique way to keep up with and interact with the kendama community as a whole. Whether it’s watching the newest edits, seeing the latest drops or seeing what new tricks people are working on or have been invented. It helps keep up with new product and events from your favorite companies and players. And especially for those in the buy/sell/trade community, FB and DS are very helpful. Paypal - the other one I’ll call by name. Makes purchasing from certain companies (GT, KMPLS, etc) or from other people directly really easy and you can call up payment disputes if something happens with the other person during the transaction. I’m sure other payment sites/apps offer a lot if not all of this same features too.
- Downspike! - Instagram - Snapchat (I use it a lot for personal stuff, but also some dama homies post crazy stuff, like the Gallaghers ) - Spotify for some good jams - Splice (video editing. Pretty decent for a mobile editing app, gets the basic stuff done well) - GoPro app (just got a Hero6, you can load straight from the cam to your phone. Woo!)
Last time I loaded that one up, it was great (good resource for beginners!), but it also took up SO much disk space. The app contains a whole lot of full videos, so it is a huge file. Just a heads up for anyone tight on storage.
@Andy Dama merged your thread with a previous one over in NDD so others could see the previous replies and, as a bonus, there's a poll.
Definitely agree with having a GoPro. The hero 5 or the hero 6 are amazing for Tripod, and fpv. Definitely get the GoPro app arsenal for editing even if you don’t have a GoPro.
PSA! For android users, check out the "Kendama Tools" app on Google play, powered by Fortress Kendama. It has tutorials, a trick list for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level, plus weekly dares and challenges!
