Ive been playing with this fresh pop for a couple of days now and it’s amazing. The only thing is the paint still seems quite slippery. How long does the paint usually take to break in? Thanks

I have had my pop for just about two months now and it slayyyz. I intentionally did not glue the tip because i really wanted to properly learn borders balence tricks and incorporating it into lines etc.. and it is fantastic. i would say it broke in nicely after a month or so of irregular seshing. once the bevel wore down a bit and the spike flattened out i was using it way more.

Before it got worn in, i would do loads of lunars on it because it was a perfect amount of tacky/slippy for my play style. The pop is a very well made kendama, best of luck for you!

from what I have experienced/heard, pops seem to be inconsistant with the paint. some people love their pop paint, others say it's slippery. My experience is that it goes through periods of more grippy and less grippy. just keep playing it.

I have been playing mine for a while and it is super slippery still. Im not the biggest fan of the pop in all honesty. The paint is not my favorite and the ken is super thin. It doesnt chip but it does dent easily.

What color is your pop's tama? I've had two green ones and the paint was amazing on them. Pretty tacky but definitely some room for adjustment. I've also had two baby blue ones and the paint has been completely different. After about two weeks of play on each the tama started getting incredibly smooth and even polished in some areas. This isn't a huge sample size so take this as mostly anecdotal. That said, my green pops are some of my favorite damas I've ever played and the blue ones are some of my least favorite.

I am a proud owner of the SS18 teal krom pop. it’s been pretty good to me and is the only pop i own/owned. that is unusual that the green ones play differently then the blue. i’m curious about the difference between other colours..

I have a yellow POP and it's pretty icy compared to other types of "rubber" paint that I've played from other companies. Even KUSA's silk is better from my experience.

I also have a SS18 Teal pop and its pretty slippery. After a month of irregular use, it was still slippery but not as bad due to the dents creating some stoppage. Stalls are more manageable but all in all, its not my cup of tea. Its been shelved as a beater dama I take when Im going to the pool/beach or a friend who has never played wants to give it a try. Not saying its a bad dama, because I love the shape (aside from the skinny spike). But I have SO many better damas Id rather sesh.
