I’m a few months into playing Kendama and have only played Sweets and KUSA. I plan on getting a Krom as my next dama. Was wondering if the extra $20 makes the Slaydawg worth it. Thanks!
so Krom is by far my favorite company. they make 3 shapes currently and i’ve played all 3: the Slaydawg, the BL (which is what’s on the Kamo, Beams, Pops, and a couple others) and the 1%. the Slaydawg is the biggest and is beefier. if you like a thicker ken or have bigger hands you might like the Slaydawg. i wouldn’t say it’s inherently “better” than the other shapes, it’s just personal preference. the 1% shape is just 1% bigger than the BL shape and is only used on their 4 pro mods. the BL shape is the slimmest and is also great. i love my Kamo but for $5 more you can also get the OK Beams, which is on the same BL shape but has a maple ken, which most people say is the best wood right now. you can’t really go wrong with any new Krom. i have an orange Kamo, a Beams and a Bonz mod and they’re all amazing and well worth the price. i personally don’t like the slaydawg shape as much, the ken is just too thicc.
BDay. I don't think the 8 year (like the 6 and 7 year before it) won't be there forever. P.S. Also, I prefer the Slaydawg shape more. Though I like the POP/BL shape, it feels a bit fragile for me.
true although i haven’t played the new slaydawg and can’t speak to how it’s different. i know it has a new lunar hole
Anyone have knowledge to refresh this thread on ALL of Krom’s current Ken Shapes so we can see a side-by-side/spec comparison from smallest shape to biggest..? I’d assume it’d go BL-1%-Slaydawg-slaydawg2-AK. I thought they released a 2% too but also kind of feel like I remember hearing chatter that it was same specs as the og SD shape..??
