If you're like me, and you were not able to make it to this year's Kendama World Cup, don't fret! You can watch livestreams of both days, thanks to Gloken! Q : Where will the livestream be available? A : Specially for DS users, we're working on a feature that will notify you within 10 minutes of the beginning of the livestream! If you’ve turned off notifications for the app, just check out the Home page on DS, we’ll be putting up a link there! Otherwise, HERE: https://www.downspike.com/videos/858 Q : When will the livestream start? A : 1200 Japan time, which is around 2000 PDT / 2200 CDT / 0500 CEST, and goes on till the day ends. Do note that Japan's time zone is ahead of Western time zones. Check your timing at this awesome website! (or just let us notify you) Q : What if i just want to see the final runs (Day 2)? A : According to this helpful brochure, the timings are as follows : Round 1 : 0900 - 1000 (1700 - 1800 PDT) Round 2 : 1030 - 1130 (1830 - 1930 PDT) Round 3 : 1230 - 1330 (2030 - 2130 PDT) Round 4 : 1430 - 1500 (2230 - 2300 PDT) Q : How do i know which round the player i'm rooting for will play at? A : You may need to pay attention to the prelims finalist board, at the end of Day 1. It will play in reverse order (last to first), so if your player is in the top three, we're looking at Round 4, for instance, and vice versa. But, if you know kendama well, then you know that anything can happen, and that any player in the finals can make a surprise run, so just watch it all. Q : Is there anything i should bring with me? A : Hmmm.. this one is tricky. Perhaps food, some drinks or beer, some great company (read : friends / significant others). AND KENDAMAS! I mean, this *is* the Superbowl of kendamas after all. Q : Are there any etiquettes to follow? A : When @Jake Wiens says "Whirlwind Check", you whirlwind check, buddy. That's it! I hope you folks tune in to the livestream, have fun and together, we will see who will be crowned world champion this year! EDIT : my apologies for the wrong timing! The Day 1 Livestream starts at 1200 Japan time, instead of 1000 like last year. The new times have been edited up top.
The Live stream will be featured on the main page of Downspike.com and the downspike app. Easy to find!
Sorry folks! As it turned out, it starts at 1200 Japan time, instead of the usual 1000 last year. Just an hour 15 mins to go!
