I have a natty TK 16 and the cups often loosen on playing, how to stop it or do I just keep on tightening them? Also what's up with gluing spike? I didn't glue my spike and it is blunt now. What are the advantages of a sharp spike?
hey bro yeah you can keep tightening them as much as you want but if you feel like they're getting to low on the ken try taking the sarado off, then wrapping a little bit of cellotape around (stick side in) where the sarado would usually be. then try putting your sarado on and putting the tama on the spike then pushing down on the tama. I usually glue my spike. having a sharp spike is good because its easier to spike it. I dont know just think of it as say you have a hole. its easier to get something in the hole thats thin then tapers out than trying to get something flat at the end thats as big as the hole.
For loose cups, i use one sheet of sticky note, cut off the part of it that has the adhesive. then cut it to a size that is just enough to wrap around the sword where the sarado would sit. then slide the sarado on carefully so that the sticky note wouldn't get wrinkled. sharp spikes makes spiking a bit easier like @caraway chiba said. other people may prefer more blunt spikes for BBs (and it also helps for ladybugs). i personally don't glue spikes
@nikki_deo I find that with paper or sticky notes the paper gets compressed overtime and starts to slip down again. I find myself having to replace them every couple weeks.
You might try this method. We've been using it for a couple of years and it seems to work well on just about everything from REZ to Ozora, and even Jumbo sized kendama (use the medium or large doubled on those)
Fixed a couple of loose cups using toilet paper, paper towels, rizla papers, post it, tape, etc... whatever I had at hand at the time it came loose. I don't like using glue on the sarado; my 'savage' solutions did the job. Once my spike goes slightly blunt I like to use some epoxy resin on it. The one I use takes around 15 minutes to dry off. You can give it the shape you want once it is halfway through the drying process. If you're thinking about using super glue I'd recommend one that has a rubber base (seen people using gorilla glue). They are more impact resistant. Non-rubber ones will brake and the cracks just propagate until you're left with a blunt spike that's even worse than it was before.
Perfect was about to post this same question here and I'm going to use the ouchless hair elastics from the video. My daughter has a ton of 'em.
Sara or whatever it’s called keeps falling off. It keeps falling off super easy and I don’t know what to do. There has to be something I’m missing I guess. It did this on my old one too, but now on my new kaizen dash it does the same thing. What can I do to fix this? this happens a lot with earth turns and swing spike for reference
