Anyone played with an Aura Kendama? They paint Ozoras customly and cover it with so called tacky clear coat. Their prices are very low so I was wondering if anyone knows how good they are.
durable paint, it is slowing down the motion but its not really tacky. i only played a jammed one, not a fresh one yet. maybe its sticky/tacky in the beginning. also if you ask you can get a musou tip mod but shhhh...
Is it similiar to normal grip of ozora paint or more icy? Was hoping for something like krom lol clear if they say its tacky on the site...
I think people have been spoiled with Krom LOL Clear, every time someone sports the word tacky they jump to LOL Clear, when in reality it's probably nothing like it, the Aura damas look nice, they're cheap RN, and they're ozoras. IMO you can't really go wrong if you're looking for a jammer. (FYI i've never played an Aura, but i've played ozoras, so you can just assume they'll perform as well as an oozie would)
I've heard that KROM LOL and DWI Sticky AF are one and the same though, I'll need to cop a DWI to confirm that though.
I was never big on nattys, but i've got my eye on a full birch RWB setup, I feel like i might be changing my opinion
Hi Guys Just noted this thread here and pleased to be apart of this forums so when i first started to work up our kendamas i used the model of the ozora paintwork as a benchmark In time we worked up the tackiness to where it felt good on the Ken for playability. Since that time we spoke to many players who liked the amount of tack which is not rubberised in anyway and not over slick/slippery Over time the tack on the Auras maintains and gets slightly more tacky than on day 1... Maybe as the final tacky top coat which has had a while to sit on the surface of the tama.. and factors like air and time will make the bind complete. we put a lot of time and effort into these Kendamas and i have a background in Fine Art - London Art Schools - so i know about the paint handling and techniques and colour theory systems.. Which i have tried to implement into my Kendama Art Customs.. so far we have had very positive feedback from our supporters and as we grow further into the business we would welcome more people to share their playing experiences. All our Kendamas are weight matched to within 0-3 grams apart and come with the Aura bearing for tangleless string.. We hope our customer service will provide helpful and timely responses to your questions. Regards AURA
Met the Father end the Son in person this Autumn in Prague who are the source of Aura, They are both great persons and have their heart on the right spot. Both love Kendama because of Kendama. their paint is very good and is something worth giving a try !
Copping one tomorrow! I am really impressed with customer service of Aura, the owner DM'd me on instagram and we talked for about 30 min straight. I'll give a update once I get my Quadragon.
Thanks a lot for the kind words Joris.. It was good to meet up and speak with a seasoned player as yourself... Look forward to meeting up soon
Thanks a lot for the support - The Aura Quadragon has been shipped off today to you... hope it arrives soon... Glad to be of service
The damas seem decent, but I'm not sure about their customer service. They have dm'ed me on instagram asking me, almost demanding me to buy one of their kendamas. They seem pretty new so I'll give them a chance though.
