Hello everyone! For people who have played with the Prime Custom Silver Sonic, how does the Phase 1 Clear play? I'd love to hear people's opinions on this.
I love it! It's as if Pro Clear and aTack made a baby together, haha! The paint is similar in tack and feel to the Primes, LOL Clear, etc - other factory paints - but notably feels much more durable, and high quality. (Makes sense since it comes from the Sweets lab and not from a Chinese factory) It also is slightly tackier out of box compared to the factory clears - again, similar in feel to an aTack. As it breaks in, I can update my impressions on this thread. Only took it out to sesh a couple times now, but so far, so great!
I just got my Silver Sonic in today and it really is like Pro Clear and aTack like @Jenny Cho says! Out of the box, to me it feels very similar to the super sticky Tribute paint from KUSA. Those are really sticky right out of the box and get a better slip/stick ratio as they're played so I'm assuming the new Phase 1 clear from Sweets will have a very similar experience.
Oh definitely! It was stickier out of the box, but it definitely gets a nice even slip/stick balance as it's played more. I like the tacky finish, but I actually think that now that it's starting to break in, it plays even better! More thoughts to come when it's seshed hard. We'll see what the final finish turns out to be!
Damn! I missed the unboxing and review in the whispering voice. Meanwhile, I was contemplating what his music library is like. I think his keyboard gives it away…
@Jenny Cho Does the phase 1 clear play like a kendama co zen paint? That's what I thought when I saw Sweets' unboxing of it.
^What Keegan said. Definitely stickier in feel and touch to the Zen. The super sticky finish does start to wear down slightly after play but it still has a good tack to it.
So this pint is incredible. Worn in, it legit got almost too sticky. One of the kids at my work has been jamming it like 8 hours a day for a month now and it slays so hard. I grab his when I want to practice stalls and lunes while I'm at work.
The phase 1 paint is super grippy, I played one very breifly and was shocked at how nice it felt, definitely a future purchase!
