Who has inspired you/pushed you the most to play kendama? If they're on Downspike, make sure to tag them and tell us why they're so great!
Mostly my local homies have inspired me, I'm looking at you @CHARRRSS! Ryan Plourd, Corey sipes, and @Christian Fraser. But also, Michah (Hong boots) clips always make me want to just play.
I was actually originally introduced to kendama by a friend of mine who became a heroine addict. I visited him in rehab and first thing I did was hand him a fresh setup, never seen someone cry so hard in my life. We each pushed each other pretty hard.
@mikey schelling is one of my biggest inspirations in kendama. I saw Love Your Base Cup RD 2 and it made me believe that I could accomplish insane things if I practiced hard enough! Mikey took a break for a while there, but I'm so glad he's gettin back into it!
Got a couple! Isaac, Finn, George, Lukas, cause they all went to the same high school as me, and the first time I brought dama to school, George came up to me and told me to check out Ken Club at Sweets. That's what really got me started on kendama, so that's super dope. Also, Keith Matsumura triggered my love for balance tricks. Can't get enough of them.
@Chad Covington got it all started for me!! More players that continue to inspire me to be unique and sesh super hard are @Cameron Herrero, @Daniel Robinson , @Javin Knisely and @fish.ky
Everytime I see Ben Herald on Insta, I get inspired to go out and play dama. In terms of spreading the love? @Ben Lowe is who I push myself to be like
It's most definitely @htimSxelA and the KE crew, they spread the love for the game the right way. Also Jake Wiens is a great inspiration (I loved the kengarden to death!).
Inspiration wise, @Yourdy and @BallardKROM have Always kept me trying to think of new things and keep it fresh, for who pushes me to play Kendama, it would be Wyatt, @chris goon and @Christian Fraser these guys help me out when I'm being soft
I first learned about kendama right when @DaveMateo became KUSA pro. His pro edit definitely got me started and loving kendama. Also, @Alex Hirota inspires me with all his sick, unique tricks, as well as @Jarod Porter for his insane style of play and skill level.
I'm glad I found downspike by accident xD I searched for "where to get a kururin" and google linked me here haha I think I will love this place
christian fraser is my favorite player of all time but ROD is the one that pushed my love for dama because of his amazing flow and amazing personality
Ever since i met Chad he has been the most inspirational, kind and all out funniest guy! I have always trusted Chad for any tips on different tricks. Thanks Chad much love!!
Chad Covington inspired me to pass my limits in Kendama because he has always joked around and helped me get new tricks I also want to give a personal shout out to Truman Theon , Jack Weaver and Levi Bacca
