I personally have only had a Kaizen triple stripe, it's been 4 months of daily play and it's still a little icy but lighthouses and birds are way better. I honestly love the challenge that comes with jamming one, it keeps me honed especially with all these sticky paints coming out now. Do you like to jam glossy damas? What's you're favorite gloss kendama? Why? Never tried one? Do it!
Exactly. When you can just nail lunar flips on a TK, you're going to have that trick on any dama. I like different kinds of paint as well, but slick is a whole different game. The kendalex plastic is a great one if you want a real challenge
TK16 and glossy in general brings the true meaning to "honed." It'll sharpen your skills in ways a tacky tama can't; it's like a superfine grit whetstone in kendama form. While learning some tricks I'll start on a jumbo or tacky, then go to natty and finally a TK to really feel like I've got the trick down. Photo of the "kendalex" plastic?
I just use a solid color zen that's lying around, or I just whip out a pretty fresh Girr because those start out icy AF for me.
Girrs start out suuuper slick. @Alex Vann one of my favorite jammers was a glossy white shenzu. I totally feel you on the glossy life, boutta go jam my tk lol. If you want a glossy shenzu i got plenty i could hook you up with one for 5 bucks at city takeover.
I cannot for the life of me do light houses consistently on my red TK16 and it's pretty damn honed as I've had it for a couple years now. Nattys, zens, other paints break in great. TKs and other icy damas man, I just cant get consistent. I've put in a lot of hours on that TK as well. I have to reshape the spike here sometime. Teach me your ways.
Just laced a lunar flip on the new Meijin. It definitely felt way cooler than it does on other damas cause I don't think I've had a painted TK before, only natty. But I do love the challenge aspect of it. I like jamming glossy damas every once in a while, but I mainly play raw ash tamas or the occasional cush clear/silk paint, a Girr once in a while.
Yea, the triple stripes are proper ice. Shoutout @wyatt bray for pulling some insane tricks on the trip splits. Super honed!
