@spiotto Welcome to the boards. Not sure if/when Sunday Seattle Seshes will resume but you might keep your eyes open. There are also some online meetups run by various groups. Also if you have any interest in older kendama history you might check out the JKA English site. It also has some good info on tricks etc.
Hi guys ! Vince here from France, living in Nantes (West Coast). I got my first kendama (TK16) as a gift from a friend 8 years ago. Back in the days I only played just a little, but I rediscovered it during the Covid era. Since march got 5 more kendamas (2x Krom '17 pro models Slaydawg), an old Sweets Prime Grain, a Krom Popo Naked and Krom x 430 Trippers). Not a habit for me to post everyday, but yesterday was a great day for me because I landed my first 2 juggles spike, 3 juggles big cup, 1.5 flip trade spike and jumping stick downspike... I'm really happy to be part of the community now, found lot of inspiration and useful tips here, and I hope that post will make me meet some french players P.S : a little story about my second Kendama, a Sunrise bought in 2012. I give it to my 13 years old nephew after a bet : if he made his first spike (no swing) in 3 attempts, the Sunrise was his. He got it first try...
@Fstopper good to have you here, cool story too. I think we have some periodic posters from France. If you're looking to connect check the Sessions board. Also you might look into some of the more recent attempts at online jams or set up one yourself.
@Fstopper There are online classes through the Kendama Institute. You might also check out the Kendama Discord Server to connect there. They just recently added video group chats which makes it easier to connect. In Japan/Philippines where I'm located we've used Skype, Discord, and others to connect.
Hi everyone! I'm Olivier, from Namur, Belgium. Sorry for my English . My parents offered me a kendama 7 years ago because I love wooden toys. At that moment I didn't get into it because I never succeed to catch it. 5 years after, I found it back and decided to play a little bit every day. I searched on the Internet to find the name of that intriguing toy remembering me that old bilboquet my father had when I was a kid. The ball was still resisting me so I searched tutorials. At that moment I discovered a world of possibilities and was so impressed. I got addicted since the first catches. People don't really know kendama in Belgium. I take my it everywhere to make it discover.
@Olayvers It's sometimes hard to find local players but the internet can help. There are even people meeting for online jams so location is less important. A quick search turned up these possibilities for players in your area. Welcome to the boards. https://www.facebook.com/kendamabelgium/ https://www.instagram.com/kendamabelgique/
Welcome to downspike, Olivier! Get into contact with @kendamabelgique on instagram. https://www.instagram.com/kendamabelgique/
Hey everyone! Im Cam or Blazinredbeard on instagram, I started playing on 4-1-20 to help kill some time during quarantine and got SUPER addicted! I started a small facebook group for my local area (North-Eastern Ohio) called NEO kendama Community. I currently rotate between my Sweets V24 and my No Jumper Lighthouse!
Hey I am new to this kendama page and wanted to introduce myself! My name is Ethan and I love playing kendama. I created an edit for a kendama edit competition that tells a little more about me! To my surprise got first place! Go check it out link is below!
Before i introduce myself, i just wanna say, @Fstopper, i love your username. (Its a cameras aperture! Im into photography myself as well as kendama) My name is Devon, 24 with autism. Ive been into kendama for a few months, and im getting there slowly! Anyone here live around Louisville Kentucky? I live 10 minutes from there. I got a new setup coming in the mail (my kaizen is BEAT on the basecups, they're chipped. CHIPPED!) I hope im welcome here you all!
Hey @DevonBenson71 good to have you drop in. You might check on the Sessions board for folks in your area. Some are also doing online meetups so distance isn't a factor. Anyone from places without a dama scene? Local kendama communities. d'Sesh (Digital Sessions)
What's up people's, my name's Manny primarily I play yo-yo but recently fell in love with kendama hoping to start making some edits with the two combined at some point! Looking forward to sharing and chatting with y'all!
Hey all! Anthony here! I'm from New Jersey and own a gaming store, Highlander Games, where I sell Sweets Kendamas! Been playing since the beginning of September and I am absolutely obsessed! My IG/Twitter: @guilt__parade Highlander IG/Facebook: @HighlanderGamesNJ
Hey guys, Nick here. I do a lot of other skill toys and my primary one is begleri. I started kendama about a month and a half ago and I'm hoping to get even more into it than I do with my other skill toys! I turn 30 on the 22nd, I'm a father of 3 and married to the most wonderful and beautiful woman in the world, and I'm from southern Ohio! I'm always looking to meet up with people to sesh with and I also love photography so I would be so into filming clips!
@Nicholas Bradshaw welcome. We've got a bunch of info stretched across the boards, even a Beginner's section with some useful info for new and old players.
Heya I'm Callie https://www.instagram.com/callie.kendama/ @callie.kendama some accounts i recommend you follow https://www.instagram.com/matsu_tkc/ epic stuff @matsu_tkc https://www.instagram.com/aizawa_kndm/ never too old to learn and play @aizawa_kndm https://www.instagram.com/bombidamadillum/ a fellow critical thinker and dama slayer @bombidamadillum I started playing kendama back in 2014/2015ish but quit for the most part until recently, so im not as good as i wish i was/could've been with that amount of time had i been consistent I'm from Minnesota (sweets kendama represent) and my claim to fame is that the person that introduced me to kendama was my roomate's girlfriend, and her brother worked for sweets back then. got to play with some classic sweets kendamas back when they were the up and coming thing (such as a used black with glow in the dark stripe, a honed metallic gold with black stripe, and near freshy green with black stripe) fun facts: i have never been to any jams or tournaments :/ i wish i had because i coulda been a part of the scene back when it was just really beginning, oh well I'm slowly learning japanese because i want to move to japan (though my life is a bit out of order and im afraid i wont be able to find a job there tbh)
