Here's an artist from Japan famous for "Burger Kendama." Her sesame seeds are even 3D. Check Mimoe out here: Instagram
These are the Meow Stripe damas by Kevin Luong who does interesting illustrations of cats and kendama stuff :3 (PS: he also makes cool kendama pins)
More on the playable end are these by another local artist/musician/web guru here in the Philippines, Pol Escuadro. I'm not sure how he does it but they've got a super matte finish to keep them from being slippery but aren't sticky at all. I wish I had a macro view of them since it almost looks like micro-fine sand on the surface; really different. I don't know if I've ever seen another painted ken you can hit Wing Walker on.
The artist is @mame_kendamad on instagram. This was made using a Kendama USA kendama, but I don't think KendamaUSA explicitly sponsored the event. I think GLOKEN did that, but I could be mistaken. This piece was also on exhibit at KWC a couple years ago. I've always been in love with it!
Every year the JKA (Japan Kendama Association) has a kendama painting contest. I'm not sure when they start handing out entry forms but I believe the the deadline for entry this past year was the end of May. Last year a Filipino, Alex Santos, won the highschool division. He's also had work displayed/sold in the US. )
Wearables: Pinkoi; Ken Blood; Mikimoto Pearls; Haley Bishoff Yeah, well I'm not that artistic. This started off as a Sweets keychain the goen coin is polished and coated to keep it from tarnishing. (it's a goen and a kendama, get it "goenKendama")
I like fountain pens and kendama both so this would be really cool BUT it's waaaay out of my league. I've seen them priced at ~US$1000
@TerraKendama That's free-hand or did they create a branding iron? Either is intricate work I understand.
2 of my latest wood burned customs. Took one of the paint pens I got from Krom to color in the lines and triangles on both. Might add another burned stripe to the bottom setup.
