100% agree, there is something pure about a good natty that paint will just never be able to replicate. Let the wood shine! No finishing necessary. Thats one thing that is nice about kendamas. Most manufactured wood products get a finish applied before the customer sees them. Its nice that kendamas come raw, and leave the customer the option. When I first started making kendamas, the local woodshop guy was very concerned and confused when I told him I wasn't putting any sort of oil / finish on the kendamas before I shipped them out! ha
